3 for 1 GROUPS

3 for 1 PURPOSE:

To encourage Christian growth in the body of Christ by building intimate relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ through prayer, Bible reading and accountability.

3 for 1 BASICS:

• Three people in a group.
• Men meet with men, women meet with women.
• Each group is assigned a "facilitator" to lead the group (See Below).
• Groups meet at least twice a month at a time and place most convenient and comfortable for the group.
• Meetings last 60 to 75 minutes.
• Groups meet for a 3 month period, after which groups are given the option to multiply to create more groups or to continue together for at least three more months.

3 for 1 MEETING FORMAT:

I - OPEN WITH PRAYER

Ask God's blessing on your discussions.

II - DISCUSS PERSONAL BIBLE READING INSIGHTS (25-30 minutes)

Each group agrees to read a specific Scripture passage between meetings and then discuss their insights and questions about the passage during the meeting.

III - SHARE ABOUT YOUR LIVES (25-30 minutes)

As God's Word needs to impact our lives. Talk about your family, your job, your hopes, your fears, your struggles and your faith. Each person is free to share as deeply as they need to, or to not share at all. All matters shared in the meeting are strictly confidential.

IV - PRAYER (10-15 minutes)

The meeting ends in prayer for each other with specific emphasis on the needs within the group and their families. All are welcome to pray, not required.

3 for 1 IN DAILY LIFE:

PERSONAL BIBLE READING

• Read the daily Bible passages set by your group.
• Ask for God's help in understanding and applying His Word to your life (prayer).
• Prepare to share how the Bible passage impacted you at your next meeting.

PERSONAL CONTACT:

Make time to check in on the others in your group with phone calls, emails, cards, etc. When people know that others truly care about them and their lives, it makes a world of difference!

3 for 1 GROUP FACILITATOR:

The Group Facilitator will be appointed by the 341 Coordinator. The Facilitator:

• Makes sure meetings are set.
• Gets the meeting started and keeps the meeting on task.
• Stays in touch with the 341 Coordinator as to how the group is progressing.
• Refers questions about the group structure or Bible questions to the 341 Coordinator and/or the Pastor.

3 for 1 GROUP HISTORY:

This ministry was begun in the fall of 2006 by three men from Bushkill Community Church who shared a passion to develop a deeper sense of community within our church. After prayerfully discussing a variety of ways to accomplish this goal, they developed and tested the format found herein. Early in 2007, all three men started new groups of three, and a women's group was also established.

It is exciting to see more men and women in BCC embrace this Ministry as it multiplies throughout the church. The church is only as stron as the bonds of true fellowship between brothers and sisters in Christ.
